What are primary and secondary business emails?

Your Primary Email is the official email address used to identify your Vendor business on the platform.

Direct answer

Your Primary Email is the official email address used to identify your Vendor business on the platform.

Secondary Emails are other email addresses under which Sellers may know or recognize the same real business.

They all belong to one Vendor profile.

Keeping this information accurate helps Sellers find the correct Vendor and helps prevent duplicate Vendor profiles.

Which email should I use as the Primary Email?

Use a stable, official email address controlled by the business.

The Primary Email should represent the Vendor business rather than one particular client relationship.

This is also the address used for Vendor business-email validation.

If you create a new Vendor, the validation email is sent automatically to the Primary Email and the validation link is valid for 1 day.

Why do Secondary Emails matter?

Different clients may know different addresses for the same Vendor.

For example, one Seller may know a general company inbox while another has always communicated with a particular member of staff.

A Seller might also know an older company address or even a personal/private email that was genuinely used in business correspondence — for example, because someone once replied from a phone while the wrong email account was active.

Adding those real contact addresses to the same Vendor helps the platform understand that they all refer to one business.

The more complete and accurate your Secondary Email collection is, the easier it is for Sellers to find the correct Vendor instead of accidentally creating another version of the same business.

What can I add as a Secondary Email?

Useful Secondary Emails can include:

  • role-based company inboxes;

  • staff addresses used with clients;

  • older or alternative company addresses;

  • another legitimate address used for the same business;

  • a personal/private address that has actually appeared in business correspondence for this Vendor.

Only add addresses that genuinely identify or have been used for the same business.

Do not deliberately repeat your Primary Email as a Secondary Email.

What happens when a Seller sends an invitation?

A Seller sends the invitation to the email address they know for your business.

If that invitation email is different from your Primary Email and belongs to the same Vendor, accepting the invitation can add it to the Vendor's Secondary Emails.

This helps the platform recognize the Vendor if another Seller later uses the same address.

What if I create the Vendor directly from the dashboard?

That is a normal supported path.

When you create the Vendor directly, the platform starts from the official business email you enter.

If a separate Seller invitation also exists, its invitation email is not automatically added to Secondary Emails during direct Vendor creation.

If that address belongs to the same business, you can add it manually.

If your business uses only one email address, there is nothing else you need to do.

Can I manage Secondary Emails myself?

Yes.

Open the Vendor business profile and edit the Secondary Emails whenever needed.

You can add addresses that should be recognized for the business and remove addresses that should no longer be associated with it.

Keeping the list current improves Seller matching and helps keep your profile, opportunities and reviews together.

Why should I avoid duplicate Vendor profiles?

One real Vendor business should normally have one Vendor profile.

Creating separate profiles for different email addresses can fragment:

  • Seller invitations;

  • current opportunities;

  • reviews;

  • business history.

Use Secondary Emails to connect the different addresses to the same Vendor instead.
