What does “Buyer” mean on the platform?

A Buyer is a person or organization interested in taking over a prepared event opportunity from a Seller instead of arranging everything from scratch.

A Buyer is a person or organization interested in taking over a prepared event opportunity from a Seller instead of arranging everything from scratch.

The Buyer evaluates the existing event arrangements, prepaid value, Vendor terms and remaining obligations and decides whether the opportunity works for them.

What is the Buyer taking over?

If the Transfer is completed, the Buyer takes over the agreed event arrangements that form part of the Transfer.

That can include:

  • access to reserved Vendor services and capacity;

  • the benefit of deposits or other amounts already paid by the Seller;

  • the applicable Vendor terms;

  • and responsibility for amounts that remain payable to the Vendors.

The exact deal baseline is recorded in the Deal Specification.

How does a Buyer evaluate an opportunity?

The public Listing gives the Buyer a quick overview.

If the opportunity looks relevant, the Buyer can request access to the DealRoom. The Seller decides whether to grant that access.

Inside the DealRoom, the Buyer can review the detailed information, ask questions and clarify anything important before deciding whether to make an Offer.

If the Buyer has not yet found the right opportunity, they can also set up a Watchdog to be notified when relevant new opportunities become available.

What is the Buyer responsible for?

The Buyer is responsible for deciding whether the opportunity, overall cost and applicable terms work for them.

Before making an Offer, the Buyer should review the Deal Specification carefully and understand both:

  • what they would pay the Seller for the prepaid value; and

  • what would remain payable to the Vendors.

Why this matters

A prepared event can give the Buyer access to arrangements that already have time, money and planning invested in them.

That can provide a financial saving on prepaid value and can also save time and effort compared with building the same event from the beginning.

What to do next

If a Listing interests you, request access to its DealRoom.

If you are still looking, set up a Watchdog so you can be notified when relevant new opportunities appear.

Review the detailed opportunity and Deal Specification, ask about anything that is unclear, and decide whether you want to make an Offer.
