What does “Vendor” mean on the platform?

A Vendor is a professional service provider responsible for one or more parts of an event — for example a venue, catering, photography, entertainment, production or another contracted service.

A Vendor is a professional service provider responsible for one or more parts of an event — for example a venue, catering, photography, entertainment, production or another contracted service.

During a Transfer, the Vendor remains responsible for the service they provide and keeps control of their own terms and whether their service can ultimately be transferred from the Seller to the Buyer.

What happens when a Vendor is invited?

The Seller invites the Vendor to review the information recorded about their existing service arrangement.

The Vendor checks that the summary correctly reflects:

  • their service;

  • the relevant contract and terms;

  • the payment status;

  • and anything important that should be included.

If something is incorrect or incomplete, the Vendor asks the Seller to correct it.

If the information is correct, the Vendor accepts the Vendor information and joins the deal. By doing so, the Vendor confirms that the Seller’s summary of their existing arrangement is accurate and allows that service to be included in the Seller’s Transfer opportunity.

This supports the Seller in presenting a credible, Vendor-backed deal without requiring the Vendor to start a new sales process.

What happens after that?

Joining the deal does not mean the Vendor has approved a future Buyer or Transfer in advance.

The Vendor can participate in the DealRoom when something affecting their service needs clarification, without having to follow every Buyer discussion.

When a specific Transfer is later proposed, the Vendor separately decides whether that Transfer works for them. A Vendor’s service cannot be transferred without their approval.

Why this matters

A Transfer changes the client, not the Vendor’s role as the service provider.

The Vendor can support the Seller’s Transfer while keeping control of their service, existing terms and the final decision about any particular Buyer.

What to do next

If you have been invited as a Vendor, review the Seller’s summary of your participation.

If it is correct, accept it and join the deal. If it is not, ask the Seller to correct it first.
